I think this video pretty much sums up my 2014 — there was a lot of eating, a lot of writing about eating and traveling to eat. Aside from stuffing my face, this year had other highlights, including some cool new gigs and a few personal goals reached.
Joining team Zagat.
For the last six months, I've been working with smart and talented editors who have me write, edit, Instagram and (awkwardly) host videos. Next up, I'll be stepping into the producer role for a new video series.
Writing for Thrillist.
I put my noodle soup expertise to good use in my first Thrillist article, a round-up of New York City's 10 best bowls of pho. Keep an eye out for another piece coming out in 2015.
Publishing a photo in Departures.
An editor at Departures stumbled upon this very blog while looking for a photo of Afuri's yuzu shio ramen and used my shot in an article about Tokyo.
Climbing to Pulpit Rock.
Norway got more stunning with every twist and turn, but the most breathtaking view came at the top of Pulpit Rock after an intense two-hour hike.
Reconnecting with old friends.
Keeping in touch isn't easy, even when you're all living in the same city, but these girls and I put in the effort and the result was a year's full of painting, brunching and road-tripping to Maine.
